Empowering Through Education
In the outskirts of Buenos Aires, where daily survival often takes priority over education, Cartoneros y sus Chicos is a beacon of hope. We do more than teach—we give children the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty.
When our project began in 2013, only 68% of students advanced to the next grade. Through targeted support, tutoring, and strong community engagement, that number has risen to an impressive 98–100%. Today, these children are not only gaining an education but also the confidence to shape their own futures.
But knowledge alone is not enough. That’s why we also support families—providing access to hygiene, nutrition, and a safe learning environment. A warm meal, an encouraging word, a helping hand—sometimes, it’s the smallest things that make the biggest difference.
For the children of the Cartoneros, the future has never been more hopeful—one dream, one lesson, one chance at a better life.
Personal Growth
The education program supports children and young people in accessing learning opportunities. Learning Foundations
The ABC Program provides essential academic foundations. Through personalized support and practical, engaging methods, children learn to read, write, and develop math skills in a playful way. This approach gives every child the opportunity to build knowledge and confidence for a bright future.
Literacy for All
Literacy Program:This program is designed for children who have never attended school and teaches them how to read and write. Through patient guidance and creative learning methods, we open the door to knowledge, independence, and new opportunities for their future.
Young Leaders
The Young Leaders Program supports teenagers in challenging life situations and equips them with the skills needed for a successful future. Through mentoring, workshops, and hands-on experiences, they learn to take responsibility, build self-confidence, and become role models within their communities.
Sports – Building Confidence & Team Spirit
Through movement and play, children experience teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. Sports not only strengthen the body but also build character, helping them discover their full potential.
Harmony and Growth
The orchestra program gives children the opportunity to develop their musical talent and build self-confidence. Playing music together fosters discipline, teamwork, and creativity—opening doors to new opportunities and future possibilities.
Art Class
In this program, children explore creative expression and develop their artistic skills. Through painting, drawing, and crafting, they learn to communicate their thoughts and emotions while building confidence and expanding their imagination.

Our program helps parents create a stable environment for their children’s education. Through counseling, workshops, and practical support, we empower families to provide their children with the best possible opportunities for a successful future.
Targeted Support
We are a place dedicated to the education and development of the children of the Cartoneros. Our foundation offers a wide range of programs that support education, families, literacy, youth empowerment, and food security.
These initiatives are complemented by recreational and socio-educational activities, including sports, music, theater, and workshops designed to strengthen social and emotional skills. Our goal is to create innovative and accessible opportunities that inspire learning, creativity, and critical thinking.
